What customers say

“Copestone Dry Stone Walling built a sandstone wall in our garden as part of a landscaping project. It was a real pleasure having the work done and we are very pleased with the finished result.   Everything was done professionally and cheerfully, on budget and on time, and it was fascinating watching the skill and technique involved in building the wall." Mr and Mrs Rockley. Rolleston on Dove, March 2018

'Emma rebuilt our dry stone wall that had collapsed and extended another incorporating a mill stone feature into it. The results are amazing and have enhanced our garden tremendously. Also because the walls have been taken back to the foundations and rebuilt they are solid and will be here long after us'.
Paul & Sue Thompson, Oker. 2018

Emma did a fabulous job of rebuilding a partially collapsed wall with some difficult terrain to manage including a downhill slope towards a river with lots of established trees, shrubs and ivy to navigate, as well as differing land levels on either side.  Emma's communication about what needed doing, how we could keep costs down (namely doing some of our own labouring & reusing stone from another wall) and how and when the work would be done were excellent and she even put in place several requested hedgehog/toad holes to keep the resident wildlife happy.  I would happily recommend Emma as a very skilled drystone waller & I am so pleased with the final result - It looks' beautiful - a work of art!
C Burril, Ambergate 2018

"Copestone Walling is a local company that rebuilt our retaining wall that urgently required attention.  We are delighted with the finished wall and very impressed with their clean and tidy method of working and clearing up when finished.  I cannot recommend Copestone Walling highly enough if you want an excellent and reliable local wall builder.  They take pride in their work and are cheerful and  professional at all times. "
AM Haigh, Brassington 2018

"Emma made a brilliant job of rebuilding my wall where a motorist had reversed into it. The work is very neat, and the area was tidied afterwards. Emma was lovely and I would have no hesitation in recommending her work. "
V. Kerry, Belper. 2018

We can highly recommend Emma.  She has undertaken several re-build jobs for us which always start with an on-site discussion about what's needed, followed up swiftly by a quotation. If there is likely to be any variation on the quote, for example because it's difficult for Emma to be absolutely sure how long it will take, then we know in advance so there are no surprises about the final bill. She is punctual and reliable and the final result is always great.

‘Emma worked very hard and skilfully in repairing one of our dry stone walls. We were very pleased with the result and will be asking her to do more in the coming year.’
M Pollard - Winkhill, Staffs. 2017

I entrusted Emma to rebuild twenty-five feet of garden wall while I was working abroad. I received photographs of work in progress, and returned to find a finished, beautiful wall, and a site completely clear of rubble.
And all at an affordable price.
JL  Kirk Ireton 2017

We were delighted with the quality of Emma's work, her punctuality and, of course her friendly and open personality. The work was finished on time at the agreed price and with no fuss. Great.
Mrs C Pollard 2016

I was very pleased with with all aspects of Emma's work and the finished result was excellent. She is very pleasant to deal with, turned up when she said she would and kept me informed all through the work.  I would have no hesitation in recommending her for dry stone walling work
J.D. Ashbourne area 2015

Just a note to say thanks for the work you've done for us on our dry stone wall. It looks amazing and much better than we anticipated. It was a pleasure to have you here, so pleased we could rely on you to do a super job
C. Flower 2016

We were very happy with the work Copestone Dry Stone Walling did for us. It was a challenging job which our usual waller couldn't cope with, but Emma completed the work on schedule, with the minimum of fuss and very tidily.

'Emma offers a very professional service. She is reliable and hardworking , whatever the weather. We set her a difficult challenge- a curved wall- and she rose admirably to the challenge!

As a member of the Derbyshire Dry Walling Association I attended the Chatsworth Show where we built a beautiful wall commemorating the wallers who left the hills and Dales to fight in WW1

Here are some lovely features Trevor and I have been putting in garden walls this summer A wall we have just finished where we repositioned and reset the name of the property and put in a postbox. (Trevor built the front of this wall)

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Chatsworth Show with our local branch of the DSWA (Dry Stone Walling Association)  DDSWA It's a great meeting of Derbyshire wallers of all abilities from beginners to master craftsmen, professionals to amateurs and hobby wallers. We always build a new feature which stays in situ for a year. This year we built a straight wall of around 7-8m with a wheel, cantilevered seats, hog holes or sheep creeps and other small niches. It's also a great opportunity to promote walling and the  beginners courses  that we run throughout the year.
